Hemingway again displays his notable ability to recreate time and place, moving on from the heady days of Jane Austen’s early love to a marriage beset by difficulties and a country at war. Hemingway … vividly and authentically portrays the times. … his is a lively, compelling read, sobering but moving finale to Hemingway’s successful trilogy. BlueInk Review

Immensely satisfying … Marriage is lively, compelling, and fun. … [Her] relationship with her husband Ashton still sparkles. Marriage is a lovely ode to their connection. … Hemingway has combined Austen’s humanity with her fiction and created a Jane that lives and breathes on the page. The Stunning Finale to Jane Austen’s Saga

In the moving conclusion The Marriage of Miss Jane Austen, VOL. III, Hemingway continues his riveting storyline of Austen’s activities from 1807 to 1809

The novel picks up four months after Jane has successfully delivered a baby boy named, George. Hemingway’s Jane is a realistic woman dealing with the challenges of motherhood and running a household. When a series of personal tragedies threatened the heart and marriage of Mrs. Austen. Jane and her husband struggle with the extent of their sons illness. This turmoil will put a wedge between the married couple. This was also a time in England where there was political unrest and the Napoleonic war is at their door step.

A dramatic last installment to popular series by Collins Hemingway with stunning atmospheric details that transports the reader to nineteenth century England. This is by far was my favorite of the three books in Hemingway’s in imagined alternate life of Mrs Jane Austen. Wonderfully depicted in regency period details with three dimensional characters, along with the authors strong narration carries you all the way through to the end.

When things dramatically change for Jane and her husband, Hemingway’s immersive characters become more fleshed out developed. The writing is fluid, and eloquent, with engaging dialogue, and notable sub-characters. An intriguing plot involving a series of challenges and misfortunes makes for an emotionally charged page turner of a book.

“In marriage, every decision required the consent of just one partner, and that partner would never be her. Not because the husband was smarter or better informed but because he was not the wife.”
