This book was received from the Author, and Publisher, in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.

This is a non spoiler review, because you as reader need to read this book. Also, I feel sometimes I have in the past gave away to much of the plot line. This has diminished the pleasure for would be readers.

Book Review | Woods of Silver and Light @TBRBeyondTours

Woods of Silver and Light is the second installment in the Storyteller’s series. It is a YA fantasy retelling of Robin Hood. It was published on February 9, 2021 by @theparliamentpress.

Favorite Quote:

“My mama always said that my sense of adventure would be the ruin of me. Perhaps she had been right all along.”

This is the second installment in the Storytellers Series. Taking place Iplace right after the events of The Storyteller’s Daughter.

Woods of Silver and Light by the Victoria McCombs is told in the view of Cosette’s sister, Anika, a courageous loyal heroine. A strong willed feisty woman that you can root for. The cast of characters is well developed and very strong. I found the pacing perfectly done for a reimagined fairytale. The author know how to capture your interest with meticulous attention to details. Slowly drawing the reader further into the storyline as it progresses and unfolds. McCombs connects you to her characters and has you totally believing in them which allowed me to be totally invested in their lives. I liked the the love triangle and thought it was embedded with precision. Giving the reader an extra layer. .

The Woods Themselves come to life in this story with beautiful world building. Wonderfully depicted atmospheric imagery, adds the perfect backdrop. Let me warn you there is a great deal of suspense. I found it quite addictive, with questions who to trust who not to trust. You find yourself changing sides multiple times. Then there is the ending. Seriously I was not expecting the twist.

The Innovative world building and incisive character development make this YA fantasy a compulsive read. I can’t wait for the next installment

It can be read as a standalone or enjoyed with this magical book series.

Victoria McCombs has sealed her place amongst other YA Fantasy authors.

This was superbly executed novel.

Some of the things I love most in this world are peppermint hot chocolate, peanut butter ice cream, golfing dates, Jesus, and game nights with family. And of course, books.

Fairytales were my first love. I became obsessed with the idea that if one was brave enough, they could defeat dragons, and that true love was real. I met my true love in college, and together we raise our two boys. I have my dad to thank for teaching me to love writing, and my mom to thank for allowing us to keep a wall of medieval weapons in the house, which curated my love for that time period.

My dream is to write vivid worlds and charming characters that will leave an imprint on my reader’s hearts, the way that so many books have done for me.
