American Heiress Violet Crenshaw is not all that she would seem to be. In fact she has a rebellious nature under lady like way. In fact she dreams of becoming a published novelist. Barley escaping a recent unwanted marriage in last book The Gilded Age Heiresses Book 1. Her Papa is most set un Violet Maring a gentleman with a stellar title.

Christian Halston, Earl of Leigh, is in need of a wife with a sizable dowry. One that he can rebuild his beloved Scottish manor after a devastating fire. So when he asked for Violets hand in marriage and is turned down. He takes things into his own hands by convincing Violet to run away. Christian is a scheming rouge who escorts Violet on her adventure to where else Scotland, and tries to convince her to marry him. When truth is revealed Christian will have to more than apologize for his actions, he will need to reveal his true feelings for this headstrong American Heiress

I have to say I enjoyed this book more than the first if that’s even possible. The burning chemistry between Violet and Christian was off the charts. I also enjoyed how the the authors development of Christian, as we see him change considerably as the storyline progresses. The characters are well developed and I found reading about their adventures fun and highly engaging.

Hats off to Harper St. George for writing another superb historical romance, that made for an exceptional escape from reality.
