This is a non spoiler review, because you as reader need to read this book. Also, I feel sometimes I have in the past gave away to much of the plot line. This has diminished the pleasure for would be readers.

The Siren Of Sussex
MiMi Matthews newest exciting book is the first installment in her Belles of London series. A captivating read that was both powerful and wonderful.
Evie Maltravers is what the ton call a bluestocking, a somewhat awkward debutant. While on her horse she is spectacular to behold. Her skillful horsemanship is mesmerizing to say the least.
Hoping to catch the eye of would be suitors. Since looks and fashion are driving force in acquiring a husband and save her family’s fortune. She seeks a tailor who will enable her to standout, as her dream to be the most notable and gifted equestrienne in all of England. Her impoverished family’s future depends on her making a most advantageous marriage.
Ahmad Malik seeks to make a name for himself amongst the society ladies of Victorian England. Ahmad knows all to well that most of the ton are extremely superficial, since he was born biracial. Already designing riding habits for some of the ladies who cut a fine swath on Rotten Row.
When Evelyn commissions Ahmad to provide her with riding habits he finds a young lady who might launch his career while wearing he very own designed haute couture.
Matthews narration and her expertly drawn characters found a place in my heart. Masterly researched she bring the sights and sounds of Victorian England to life. This time Matthew’s storyline captures the heartache of the views of Colonial English society had placed on interracial couples. Ahmad and Evie tender romance blossoms slowly and their relationship was delightful to behold. Matthews signature writing captivates the reader slowly drawing you into the world and characters she has created.
