This book was received from the Author, and Publisher, in exchange for an honest review. Opinions and thoughts expressed in this review are completely my own.
This is a non spoiler review, because you as reader need to read this book. Also, I feel sometimes I have in the past gave away to much of the plot line. This has diminished the pleasure for would be readers.
Tess of The Road was published by Random House on February 27, 2018. So I would advise you to read that enjoyable book first.
In the Serpent’s Wake By Rachel Hartman
Tess of the Road #2
It so nice to be immersed into Rachel Hartman’s writing!
In the Serpent’s Wake, we follow Tess, Seraphina’s younger sister. Picking up immediately after the events of Tess of The Road. Her adventures take her to the high seas.
Rachel Hartman has decided to use multiple perspectives, in this installment. Also it should be noted that the author links some hard hitting themes that we as readers can connect to in our own vast world. Racism, political unrest are just a few I will mention here. I don’t want to cover to much because I think takes away from the readers experience. I could have listened to Tess’s point of view through the whole book. The world building is rich expanded, also I felt this was a coming of age book. Tess’s development is definitely noted and I enjoyed following her. We meet old friends and new ones, hard struggles and complexities, and villains !
Have a wonderful day ♥︎
